Craft is Culture

For 40 years, the conventional wisdom in the brewing industry is to grow in volume, distribution networks, and become efficient through scale. We believe in providing a new option; a new way to grow and a way to rethink the disproportionate impact the human-to-human interaction has on the brand and culture you build. The pioneers of craft knew that changing the culture was where they won the most influence. 4th Wave systems build culture by brewing.

Scale Down to Scale up

To go bigger, think smaller. 4th Wave Systems are designed at a human scale. It's a scale that the average person can understand, absorb, and interact with. In this way, it is a precision tool. The closer to the craft the customer can get, the more they feel encouraged to try new things, build new relationships, and come back again and again. These are the building blocks of monumental craft revolutions.

A Craft Experience

At 4th Wave, we are passionate about changing the way people see brewing. We set out to design a system that let passion have its place in the craft brewery experience. We built this system to change the way we brewed and built community around our craft. Now we are sharing our technology with the world.

Our Story

In 2017, on a beach in British Columbia, a young brewer set out to make the first brewing tutorial video that actually spoke to the viewer. Founder Julian Arena dreamt of a future where brewing and beer were as beautiful and inviting as cooking and food were. That first transparent brewing system may have fallen to pieces, but 5 years later, its successor took the principles of glorifying the brewing process visually and perfected it. After years of design and research, the world's first fully transparent brewery opened its doors in 2022 in Asheville, North Carolina.
